what a beautiful mess this is.

blogging fail.

i love summertime. i love idaho. i love my life. and i. am. t h a n k f u l.

t h a n k f u l  for: my wonderful boyfriend.
June 13th, 2010

Every summer of mine for the past four years, have been spent with this wonderful guy. June 13th was the special day. Full of adventure, laughter & quite the surprise.
(no, not a giant diamond ring - just to get that part out of the way)
We woke up early that morning after a late night of trying to figure out what to do for our anniversary. We were both super tired & i had gotten sick so we had a much later start than we had planned on (2pm-ish). We drove two hours into the wonderful Idaho mountains, destination; ghost towns! After stopping to let the dogs play in the river we saw a moose! Literally three minutes later we started driving again when we heard a loud hissing sound (?!?) yeah, basically, long story short; we blew a tire. at the very bottom of Grimes' Creek Summit. Summit= super giant mountain looking over the payette river. Bottom= 2 miles below. ha. So Aaron basically drove the fastest i've ever seen him go. Right when we made it to the top the tire was flat.
joy.

oh, did i mention that we had zero cell service?
so we sat on this corner for a long, long time.
& it was worth it, we had this view the entire time...
(but no worries, we got service...roaming & broken up...but it went through!)

i snapped this one the moment my BB got service.
H A P P Y.
i love nature. and i had a lot of fun. but we both had to get back into town because we both had work the next morning...so we were super relieved when we got through to Aaron's buddy Gary, who drove 3 hours to come and get us. Such a nice guy!
a lot of people ask me how we took allll sorts of pictures together when it was just the two of us(??).
well, i used a tri-pod and a remote.
rough life. hahaha.
It was perfect.
p.s.
Dear ____,
he's mine...& always will be.
so you can stop talking shit and being jealous.
you know who you are.
quit stalking me.
- k & a.
t h a n k f u l  for: my dad & the house i grew up in.
his landscaping and garden is like an oasis!
i'll post more garden pics over the summer. of mine & my dads. his is better, haha.
t h a n k f u l  for:  beautiful summer storms.
i have around 3000 shots over the month of june of just storms.
these will justify the amazingess of them.
(you know the rule about posting blogs that take 4 hours to read...ha)

t h a n k f u l  for:  my sister meg.
who just celebrated her 23rd birthday July 1st! She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) when she was 19. her disease has progressed to Devics Disease. she has been in a wheelchair since she was first diagnosed, but that doesn't stop her. nothing does.
she  is  i n c r e d i b l e  &  s t r o n g  &  f u n n y  &  b e a u t i f u l.
Gray
the 4 year old brudder.
i'm thankful for him too.

anyways, this post is far too long now, but that's okay because i had a lot to catch up on.
i'm sorry. i wont let it happen again! i've been super busy with getting ready for family to come visit and allll sorts of stuff.

expect another blog soon.
really soon...like...tomorrow soon. <3 <3

i'll see you in my dreams tonight.

This stunning lady is my Nana Parsons.
(my mother's biological father's mother)
basically; My Great Grandma.
(even though I've never met my mom's dad we're still close with his side of the family)
I don't know what year any of these pictures were taken, but it doesn't really matter.
She was such an awesome lady, who sadly, suffered from Alzheimers later in life.
I remember going to her house when I was younger and my sister and I always got to pick out a stuffed animal. I remember her house and the way it smelled. The fake Indian doll she had in a cradle that scared me every time I walked past it. All of the apples, real & fake & trying to determine which were which.
So many memories.

I wish that I could have seen her more often, but after she got diagnosed she had to move.
I miss that house & her even more.

She passed away this morning at 12:02 (the 11th)
June 10th was my (2nd) cousin Tiffani's Birthday.
I think she waited a few minutes past midnight, so that Tiff wouldn't remember her birthday as a day of "sorrow". Grandma wasn't like that- everything was always so happy & joyous.
Always something to celebrate.

I looooooove discovering new things! More so in the case that my TOMATOES are g r o w i n g! yay! & my Christmas Cactus is BLOOMING! I knew if I had faith in the stubborn lil plant it would show its true colors! Literally, I moved it all over the house for MONTHS so that it would receive different lighting and it found it's spot! Kitchen bar top is it's official blooming place!

Idaho never fails to surprise me.

We hiked up this draw yesterday. The little specks you see in the distance would be the lovely country-side of Melba, ID.
I loved all the green, blooming sage. The wildflowers. & even the fact that it lightly sprinkled during our hike. Can you say r e f r e s h i n g? It smelt unbelievably good!
B E A U T I F U L
I love Idaho. I was born & raised here & I doubt I'll ever leave. (except to travel.)

well hello, mr. ant.

Trucker & Zada are such spoiled, happy puppies. Love them, much-much-much!

my head isn't that giant, promise. i was standing on a rock in front of him.

overall; wonderful day.

Lu.
Trucker in their new old dog house! My dad built it for my late dog, Mika. It is amazing! My dad is very talented! The front side is a doghouse & when you walk around to the back it's a kitty casa! My dad brought it to me yesterday & Trucker will NOT get out of it! He LOVES it!
Isn't he handsome?!
sorry about all of the pictures. not a lot to say.

p.s.
we had a tornado warning today w/ a few funnel clouds (aka) "almost tornado!"
HAHA, Ohhh Idaho...Jeeeeeze.
Summer? Where ARE you!?!

tattoos. & today.

I love tattoos! I got my first one for my 19th birthday & trust me, it was nothing small. I had Brandon Smith from Ink Fever Tattoo in Boise, Idaho freehand whatever he wanted. I did my research on artists in the area and wasn't so sure about a few of them so I started driving to different studios and meeting with artists in person. I let Brandon draw on me and I fell in LOVE with his custom work! The man can FREEHAND!

1st sitting was 4 1/2 hrs
2nd sitting was 1 1/2 hrs
I totally love my Cherry Blossom Tree!
I got my backpiece done a year and a half ago.
& i'm totally tattoo hungry again.
So I've started planning tattoo #2. & let me tell you, I am SO EXCITED.
My Inspiration;

My Mom & Dad. This was them at the beginning. They divorced years ago, (& they both remarried). But they are STILL my parents, I love them both the same. Of course I had my stupid teen bratty years (don't we all?) but things are different now. And I feel so appreciative of EVERYTHING they've done and taught me. Love them.

So as one of my goals this summer, I've decided on starting my half sleeve on my left arm. My mom's senior portrait and my dad's senior portrait with a freaking SWEET background and on my inner bicep I want to do my dog Mika's pawprint with her name (she passed away in august.)
Mika <3

mom's senior picture
LOVE the blue fluffy!

I don't have a copy of my dad's senior picture (i'll get it soon) BUT isn't this AMAZING!
the back of this picture says "Copenhagen Man"
i love it.

I'm SO, so, SOOOO excited to start my half sleeve! Brandon is one of the BEST portrait artists that i've seen so I know it will be amazing...I guess my next step would be making an appointment? haha...that's probablyyy at good idea! rat a tat tat tat.

T O D A Y.
was a great day off. I spent it with my guy running errands, seeing my dad <3 & making a yummy dinner with a delicious dessert! It rained randomly througout the day which made it smell super good outside!
I changed out my scentsy today, Mangooooo. Mmm, smells fresh and sweet and YUMMY in my house. I also noticed that Zada LOVES sleeping on the hardwood floor, so I decided to lay with her today.

it wasn't very comfortable.
but i love her, & it was worth it.

I LOVE DAYS LIKE TODAY.

oh. p.s.

my garden is-a-growin'!
those little leaflets are my sunflowerrrrrrs!
YAY!

puppy love. storms. cupcakes.

I love hanging out with my puppies! Yesterday, Aaron and I were trying to decide what to do with our day off. We were thinking;
a)take the puppies out to play.
b)spring clean-again.
c) make cookies, or
d)movie day!
Well since it was thundering & raining ALL day we decided to combine a,b & d. We ended up playing inside with the dogs until they were tuckered out.

Trucker & Skeeter the frog basking in the sun. What a weirdo.

Zada & Skeeter. & Truckers big nosie ruining the picture.
We cleaned while they napped and then Aaron made stove top popcorn and we literally watched random Netflixers all day. It was great. OH, and I also made fresh squeezed OJ. bomb. totally bomb.

My sissy Meg (the baker of the family) surprised me today with cupcakes! She called me and randomly told me to "come outside!" Confused, I did as she told me to and this is what she brought me!

PINK LEMONADE CUPCAKES?!
uhm, helllloooo- YUM! My sister is the greatest.

p.s. my aloe plant is doing quite well after it got in a fight with my cat...

 This plant comes in rather handy when you;
a) have a BF that cooks italian for a living! (&rocks at it. unless he burns himself- not coool)
b) sunburns!
c) want a neato looking plant. c:

So nothing much. But overall- a totally fantastic day!
& rather beautiful if i do say so myself
