puppy love. storms. cupcakes.

I love hanging out with my puppies! Yesterday, Aaron and I were trying to decide what to do with our day off. We were thinking;
a)take the puppies out to play.
b)spring clean-again.
c) make cookies, or
d)movie day!
Well since it was thundering & raining ALL day we decided to combine a,b & d. We ended up playing inside with the dogs until they were tuckered out.

Trucker & Skeeter the frog basking in the sun. What a weirdo.

Zada & Skeeter. & Truckers big nosie ruining the picture.
We cleaned while they napped and then Aaron made stove top popcorn and we literally watched random Netflixers all day. It was great. OH, and I also made fresh squeezed OJ. bomb. totally bomb.

My sissy Meg (the baker of the family) surprised me today with cupcakes! She called me and randomly told me to "come outside!" Confused, I did as she told me to and this is what she brought me!

PINK LEMONADE CUPCAKES?!
uhm, helllloooo- YUM! My sister is the greatest.

p.s. my aloe plant is doing quite well after it got in a fight with my cat...

 This plant comes in rather handy when you;
a) have a BF that cooks italian for a living! (&rocks at it. unless he burns himself- not coool)
b) sunburns!
c) want a neato looking plant. c:

So nothing much. But overall- a totally fantastic day!
& rather beautiful if i do say so myself

barefoot.

Barefoot Gardening. I love the Earth between my toes.
 Our garden is nearly complete!
We planted Tomato's, Cucumber, Squash, Zucchini, Asparagus, Corn, & Peppers in our Veggie Bed.

Raspberries, Blueberries, Blackberries, Watermelon & OF COURSE, Strawberries in our Fruity Bed.

Parsley, Catnip, Rosemary, Mint, Sunflowers, Chives & LOTS of Basil! in our Herb Bed.

Everything we planted was either Idaho Agriculture Certified "Organic" or from a Seed! Let's hope that our VERY FIRST GARDEN is a successful learning process & provides lots of healthy fresh summer goodies!
Here are a few pictures of our progress!

We still need to build a few set ups for our fruits, transplant our INSANELY out of control Mint into a pot in the ground, so it stays in a specific area. We need to gravel the "T" walkway and we've also decided to place random stones throughout the grass on the outsides. It sounds like a lot of work, but really- it isn't that bad AT ALL!
Don't you LOVE my lizard in the top left picture! He is there to scare away...annoying pests? Sure...And of course there is the picket fence I mentioned in a previous post! Aaron worked his paws off building it for me c: Maybe I'll paint it white?
Oh and we planted two Clematis' on the back fence where the cross wood is! One is lavender colored and the other is a very deep purple.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS TO TAKE OVER OUR FENCE!
We've been doing lots and lots to make our house a home! Expect more soon!
p.s.
These two books saved our lives.
Sunset Western Gardening Book of Edibles.
Sunset Western Garden Book.
Even though we both grew up with gardens it helps to have a little reading material.
& an extra special thanks to my parents and aaron's as well.
Happy Gardening!

sweet, sweet summertime.

There is nothing better than this. Kissing on a cliff, what a rush. An even bigger rush with the sunset and all the warm rays of summer sunshine crawling all over my skin. This is something I NEVER want to forget.

Aaron is my best friend. I've known him since I was fourteen and he was seventeen. It wasn't until three years later that sparks began to fly. We spent every single summer together, sneaking around and spending every possible second together. We were both young, a little to young for our families and friends to take us serious. So with that we stayed best friends. I remember him promising me that when I was twenty-three and he was twenty-six, if neither of us were married that we would marry each other. Funny, young love at it's best. Or so I thought. That was just the beginning.

December 2008 we moved in to a little two bedroom, 1 bath apartment. I transferred schools and we started our life together. We spent every holiday together, made lots of memories and got our first kitty together. Her name is Lucy. She and trucker are officially best friends.
Summer '09 was full of adventures. Our favorite trip was to Joseph Oregon for a week and a half. We hiked around the mountains, went to Wallowa Lake and even ate kettle corn at Joseph Days.
But my favorite part of the trip, was this.

It was the most beautiful little spot I've ever seen.
Underneath an old bridge.
Amazing.

December '09. We bought a house.
3 Bedrooms. 2 Bathrooms. Fully fenced yard. 2 car garage. Perfect.

We've spent a lot of time and money fixing things, painting and I did all the decorating. We love it, a lot. Things couldn't be better at this point.
This house, our house- is now a home.
For this past Christmas, Aaron got me a new addition to the family.
Her name is Zada. She is a black lab and I love her to death. Two months before I got her, My dog of thirteen years passed away. And there is no doubt it my mind that Zada is a reincarnation of Mika. Weird I know, but I can just sense it.
:)

So, there ya go. The past year and a half summed up into a few pictures and some sentences.

This summer is going to be the best!
Reason #1- Our garden! The house we moved into has a huge backyard with a TREE, that's it! Aaron built me a raised garden and filled it with top soil. I love, love, LOVE gardening. It has three different boxes. A big one for veggies, one for herbs and one for fruits!
Here it is, nice and....empty? ugh.

Soon, we will start planting. But before we do that we are going to put up a picket fence around it so that T & Z stay out! We are going to gravel the walkways and make it a million times better!
Just wait and see (:

Now if only Idaho would make up it's mind and quit raining every other day.

So this is our life, so far.
Bring it on Summer, we're ready!

p.s. thank you may. for the flowers.

mama's day weekend.

I absolutely adore this bouquet of flowers that so pleasantly surprised me on the kitchen table when I came home from work, Saturday night.
greatest. boyfriend. ever.
(I'll tell our story later.)

On to Sunday.
I spent mother's day hanging out with my mommy, sister and baby brother.
Grayson is four and BY FAR my favorite little guy to photograph, always.

he is the biggest goober.
i love him.
i love him.
i love him.
He lovvvves to play outside, so every time I come over we play. So here he is, running all over the yard.
Like a crazy sugar high four year old. OH. And being cute!
Smokey.

I love everything about this picture.
1: his tough guy look.
2: his shirt.
3: his tippy-toed sandals.
4: just him, in general.

I took 434 shots. So...I'm just showing you a few!
Happy Mother's Day Mom

this past week.

So I promised myself as I was deleting all of my old posts, that I would keep up on posting at LEAST once a week. fail. fail. fail. So starting....NOW, I will. Not just for my invisible readers- but for myself. I really, really want to remember all of the simple things in life that make me happy. The little things that really DO matter. So here we go, round 2.
p.s. I totally regret deleting my old posts. Totally.
